Food has always been part of a bigger picture for me. I believe
eating well should fuel a life that’s active, creative, curious,
and full of experiences. I’ve always been drawn to movement,
thought, and the outdoors—climbing, trail running, skating, or
disappearing into the woods for a few days, or a few weeks—and
creativity has been just as constant, from more than twenty years
rocking out behind a drum kit to designing strategy games and
bringing new ideas to life.
I’m endlessly curious about how things work and why we are the way
we are. I love reading, writing, and studying subjects that
challenge the way I think—from ancient religions and philosophy to
quantum physics, mathematics, and the psychology of trauma. I’m
equally happy working through a difficult disentanglement puzzle
or exploring an idea that might take me months to fully
understand.
One of the most important parts of my story is that I’m seven
years sober. Overcoming alcohol addiction has been one of the
biggest milestones of my life, and it fundamentally changed the
way I think about health, intention, growth, and what it means to
build a life worth being fully present for.
That same spirit is at the heart of how I cook. I love taking
simple, wholesome ingredients and turning them into something
unexpected and memorable. Cooking brings together so much of what
I value: creativity, experimentation, attention to detail, health,
and the simple pleasure of making something for another person.
Whether it’s a meal, a piece of music, a game, or an entirely new
creation, the joy for me is in learning, making something
meaningful, and sharing it with others.
